Having
traveled to Europe last year, I was struck by the ingenuity and modern
elegance of the smaller wind farms in the countryside. The views inspired
me to create an original work of art that might demonstrate how beautiful
a small number of large towers can be. I'm sending some of this edition
out to businesses and individuals on both sides of the current debate
on Vermont wind power generation.
I
feel that our current electric needs are met at a cost of tremendous
physical impact, locally and globally. Wind power's greatest impact
is visual and local only. I see that cost as a visual enhancement
of Vermont's independent spirit.
Let
the small wind farm spirit work in Vermont. If we can keep the electricity,
control and profits in state, I feel that wind towers will enhance
the Vermont cachet of independent spirit and natural beauty.
Sincerely,
Mike Gauthier
